The Poets Bowl was a sterling silver creation by Benjamin Burt in the latter part of the 18th century after the American Revolutionary War.
The Poets Bowl has been owned by the Lowell and White families for over 200 years. It was only recently found in the possessions of Harriet Tilden Sturgis White, the daughter of Nathaniel Sturgis who was the owner of Russell & Company, and reportedly the wealthiest family in New England.
